Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist

Dr Emily He is a consultant gastroenterologist and hepatologist who is highly experienced in all aspects of general gastroenterology, including bowel cancer screening and polyp removal, gastroesophageal reflux disease, peptic ulcer disease and functional gastrointestinal disorders.

She has a particular interest in liver disease, especially the management of viral hepatitis, fatty liver disease and liver cancer.

Dr He graduated from the University of NSW with honours in 2005. After completing her gastroenterology specialist training at Prince of Wales Hospital, she received a prestigious NHMRC and the White-Walker Cancer Research Scholarship to conduct doctoral research in bowel cancer screening at the University of NSW and the University of Oxford. She also completed a Churchill Fellowship to study emerging technologies and platforms in optimising bowel cancer screening. Dr He has authored numerous publications in bowel cancer screening and continues as a senior research fellow in bowel and liver cancer control at the University of Sydney.

Dr He is among the consultants responsible for overseeing the liver service at Concord Repatriation General Hospital and also leads the direct access colonoscopy service at the same institution.

She has rooms in Randwick and Burwood. She performs gastroscopy and colonoscopy at Strathfield Private Hospital, Prince of Wales Private Hospital, Double Bay Day Hospital and has public lists at Concord Repatriation General Hospital.
