Open haemorrhoidectomy
An open haemorrhoidectomy may be necessary for large or complicated haemorrhoids. This procedure is performed under anaesthetic (either general, sedation with additional local anaesthetic or spinal) in a hospital or day surgery.
Stapled haemorrhoidectomy
This operation involves the use of a staple gun inserted through the anus to draw the haemorrhoids internally by removing ring of internal tissue. There is no external wound, but it does not deal with large external skin tag components if present.
Our goal at Sydney Colorectal Associates is to deliver prompt access to appointments, diagnostic services and procedures that are tailored to your requirements.
