What do I need to bring with me to my consultation?
- Current referral letter from your GP or specialist.
- Any x-rays, scans or pathology relating to your condition.
- Medicare and private health insurance details
- Complete list of current medications.
- Copies of any recent health or medical summaries.
- DVA or pension card if applicable.
Why do I need to bring a referral?
If you do not have a current referral, you will not be eligible to claim the Medicare rebate for services provided by SCA.

Do I need a colonoscopy?
Colonoscopies are recommended for patients experiencing symptoms such as:
- A change in bowel function
- Bleeding
- A positive FOBT test
- Family History of Bowel Cancer/Polyps
- Sudden Weight Loss
- Sudden drop in iron
