Anorectal Physiology

SCA is able to offer anorectal physiology testing for those experiencing problems associated with faecal incontinence or constipation, or other bowel problems.

Anorectal physiology assesses the function of the mechanisms of the pelvic floor and anal canal.  Testing includes manometry to analyse rectal sensitivity.  These procedures are minimally uncomfortable and may be valuable in assisting with advice regarding management.  For more information on this testing please refer to the Anorectal Physiology Studies page under Treatments.
